Latest Tester Korea Haul!

I know, I know. I really need to stay away from Tester Korea. Especially when I accidentally end up buying mostly masks. But, in my defense, I stumbled across some great deals. (We will go with that for justification) My pictures aren’t the best for this post. No matter what I did, my camera just would not cooperate. So, you all have be forewarned.

This is mostly a haul post with very little commentary.

2015-05-08 14.55.13-1

These little penguins are too cute! I’ve ordered them a few times, and oddly enough, they have yet to be for me. The people I ordered these for are very happy about them.  These are a Holika Holika product and I adore the creative packaging.

Cost: 3900 won each

2015-05-08 14.55.53

This is an Innisfree towel. It intrigued me because it claims to create a thick lather and to be made from natural ingredients.

Cost: 3000 won

2015-05-08 14.56.13

I have the Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Black Head Out Balm reviewed many times and I decided to give it a go. Since I just received another black head product in a monthly bag, I think I need to do a comparison post.

Cost: 4000 won

2015-05-08 14.56.32

I love this gloss bar! A little bit of color with a super cute package, and I am sold.

Missha Masks! I bought one for oily days (lemon)  and another (honey) for when I need moisture.

Cost: 1000 won each

2015-05-08 14.58.51

I have never seen this brand before. Beauty Friends seems to be a brand new to Tester Korea. I definitely appreciated the price (500 won) so I ordered multiple to try out. There are a bunch more varities to this brand.  I picked out Marie Algar, Tomato, Royal Jelly, Vitamin, Aloe and Herb.

Cost: 500 won each

2015-05-08 14.59.27

I also tried out a few more new to me masks: MJ Care Essence Mask in Charcoal (500 won),  Tonymoly Pureness in Shea Butter and Hyaluronic Acid (1000 won each), Tonymoly Wonder Butter (1000 won),  Skinfood Deep Sea Water mask (1000 won),  and Holika Holika Aqua Mask (500 won).

2015-05-08 15.01.03

Foodaholic was another new discovery for me. They are 500 won each and they, too, come in oodles of varieties. I chose to get snail, blueberry, royal jelly and aloe.

2015-05-08 15.00.01

I love Innisfree masks!!!! I scooped up a whole bunch on this haul. Namely in Cucumber, Black Berry, Tea Tree. Strawberry, Bija, Lime and Aloe. I’m all about the aloe on this haul, it seems.

Cost: 950 won each

2015-05-08 15.00.26

I think what made me buy these was the packaging. It’s too cute! I’m a sucker for it. Luckily, I think these are nice masks. These are Tonymoly I’m Real masks.

Cost: 1000 won each

2015-05-08 15.00.45-2

And yet another new to me brand! These are Aritaum masks. I picked out shea butter, cucumber, honey and hyalurinic acid.

Cost: 1000 won

As you can see, I went mask crazy. Like a lot crazy. I’m really glad that this was during a sale because otherwise I would think I was nuts. I also hadn’t bought any masks or the like in quite awhile (not including my monthly bags).

What do you think? What would you get from Tester Korea?

Cheers,

Kristen

Tester Korea Haul #3

I ordered a third haul from Tester Korea. Before the second one had even arrived. I think this may be a sign of a problem, but that’s ok! I am fully ok with this. Some of what I bought was for a gift, and the recepient was VERY happy.

2015-02-20 16.45.17

As always, the package was nice and tightly packaged. I had no worries of finding anything smashed or broken. Below you’ll find the products, my descriptions and thoughts if I have tried it. I’ve also linked to the product pages on Tester Korea if the product is still available as well as included prices in case you were wanting to take the plunge and get some for yourself.

2015-02-20 16.52.38

so, there you have it. My third Tester Korea haul. Any suggestions as to what I should try next? I’ll likely do an order in April or May sometime.

Second Tester Korea Haul

Before my first Tester Korea Haul came in, I had my second one ordered. Whoops? I tried to not go overboard. But… all of a sudden my cart was full. This order, once again, has a lot of masks, but I did venture beyond the sheet mask this time around. It took roughly a month to get to me, which wasn’t helped much by spending over a week at customs.  (grrrr at you customs).

2015-01-28 09.01.232015-01-28 09.03.35

All of my goodies were nice and neatly packed! The bottom of the box was a bit worse for wear, but it was secured going through customs.

2015-01-28 09.56.32

TONYMOLY Changing U Magic Mask Sheet 1Box

This is a set of masks (as far as I can tell).  Here’s what they all do according to the Tester Korea site. Some of these ingredients I have never, and I do mean never, dreamed of trying. Bird’s nest is a great example of this.

cost: 2000 won

Etude Wonder pore freshner

This seems to be a facial mist product. The name sounded cool, so I was game. Check out below to see how it was described on Tester Korea.

It solves multiple skin care troubles at once with its patented formula. Cinnamon, Lotus and, germanium extracts control excessive sebum while vegetable ingredients refine skin tone

cost: 2500 won

Well, there you have it, my biggest haul to date. I actually have a bigger one coming. Bigger in the sense that it cost more money, not necessarily that it will have more stuff. In total, with shipping, my order was about 40000 won after discounts and such. I ordered this during a sale they were having.

Thoughts? Comments? Guidance on how to use some of this stuff?

Cheers!

Kristen

Tester Korea Haul!

I’d been introduced to Tester Korea through many different blogs that I follow and when they had some sales of up to 30% off during Black Friday, I decided to take the chance. I placed my order on November 26 and it was mailed December 8.

In total, my order cost me 18 550 WON for the products, and 9500 WON for shipping. This equals to roughly 19.56$ for my products and 10$ for shipping. While the shipping seemed steep to me, we’ll see how I feel about it once we go through the products. The dollar amounts are in USD. I also had to deal with the exchange rate for CAD. Which, to be frank, sucks at the moment.

Also…speaking of shipping.

As stated above, my order was placed November 26 and finally was mailed December 8, almost 2 weeks later. It finally arrived to Canada on December 19. And as of December 20th the status of the package read “Item has been presented to Canada Border Services Agency for customs review.”  I got nervous when I saw that, but it cleared customs December 23 and arrived to my postal box December 29th.

Well, enough about my shipping woes, onto the haul. All product descriptions come from the link provided for the product from Tester Korea or the product labelling if possible. I’ll list the prices as I paid them in won at the end of each product.

Can I just say that this was very well packaged! I was super impressed. There were so many packing peanuts protecting my order.

First up, the masks! And you have been forewarned, I bought many of them.

PhotoGrid_1419976951461

1/2. HOLIKAHOLIKA Mask Sheet From Nature

I ordered two of these masks. I chose Vitamin+ Pineapple and Hyaluronic acid+ bamboo. I chose pineapple because I had never seen a mask made of pineapple. (As I’ve said in other posts, I’m still fairly new to the kbeauty game) and hyaluronic acid was chosen because I have learned that it is great for the skin. Pineapple contains bromelain which has great anti-acne properties.

cost: 700 won each

3.  A’pieu Pure Bamboo Sheet Mask

This is a sheet mask that contains bamboo. Bamboo is great for moisturizing skin and, depending on the form, can also be great for your hair. This, however, will be going on my face. It contains magnesium and calcium to help maintain “optimal moisture and oil balance all the time.”

cost: 1000 won

4. MISSHA Pure Source sheet mask

I ordered this in Sea kelp nutrition which is said to nourish and vitalize the skin. I hope it doesn’t smell too sea-weedy. On the back of the packaging, there was a bit of information on what is in this mask. It reads: Pure cotton sheet mask enriched with Sea Kelp extract which contains mineral, vitamin and iodine , makes your rough and fatigued skin moisturized and vitalized while helping control wastes and impurities on the skin to make it clean and clear.

cost: 800 won

PhotoGrid_1419977923278

1. BAVIPHAT Juicy mask sheet

I ordered this in Avocado (nourishing and lifting) and Pomegranate (brighten and elasticize). The avocado is great for dry skin, which will be fantastic once winter comes around. Pomegranate helps to retain a youthful complexion. (I don’t need help with that, I just like the sound of putting something made with pomegranate on my face)

cost: 700 won x 2

2. It’s Skin Aloe Calming Mask Sheet

A calming mask sheet, non-greasy formula to relieve dry skin and leave you feeling silky soft absorbs quickly to soothe skin irritations and can help keeping waterty effect after a bath or shower and sun overexposure. This mask has refreshing aloe scent and is ideal for the whole family.

This is also a sheet mask that has aloe, which is great for the skin. It is moisturizing and can help with soothing the skin. The one thing I don’t get about this mask? I have zero clues about who the guy on the packaging is. I can only assume that he is some kind of celebrity.

cost: 800 won

3.Holika Aqua Max Ultra Moisture Mask Sheet

Calming moisture mask sheet with icy-cool feeling that contains moisturizing ingredient discovered in the Alps.

This is a sheet mask that is designed to stay on for 15-20 minutes. It’s supposed to help rehydrate your skin. Again, got this because of winter coming. Or potentially coming. It hasn’t dropped much below zero yet.

cost: 500 won

PhotoGrid_1419978377035

1. It’s skin Pearl Bright Essential Mask Sheet

Mineral-rich moisturizing pearl extracts to enrich skin moist and glowing sheet mask that cultivate.

I’ll admit, it was the packaging that attracted me to this product. The price also helped. I look forward to trying it. Pearl extracts help to brighten and enrich the skin according to the Tester Korea site.

cost: 800 won

2. BAVIPHAT woori rice mask sheet

I ordered this in Oatmeal for moisturizing and nutrition of the skin. Plus, the little dude on the packaging is the right combination of creepy and cute.

cost: 700 won

3. It’s Skin The Fresh Mask Sheet

I ordered this in Honey for glow and elasticity. Depending on how I like this mask, I may go back to buy the remaining types of this brand. The packaging is clean and crisp and I like it. This mask is purported to clear up skin issues as well.

cost: 800 won

4. INNISFREE Make-up 1Minute Mask

Confession time. When I ordered this I wasn’t 100% sure what it was. I think it’s a 3 piece mask designed to be worn before you put on makeup. Nonetheless, I’m more than willing to give it a try. The back of the packaging leads me to believe that it had three pieces– one for your forehead, and one for under each of your eyes. The packaging also says that it contains Jeju green tea water to help optimize your face for make up.

cost: 1000 won

PhotoGrid_1419978640656

MAMONDE 7Days Project Sheet Mask

I ordered this in #04 Pore Care. I always feel so self conscious over my pores. This type (I really wanted to type flavor) is apple and lavendar.  I will admit to being a bit disappointed. From the picture on Tester Korea, I understood that I’d get 1 of each of the types of masks, not all one kind. Since I now have 7 of the same mask, I hope it’s good. The packaging is actually pretty cute. Each day of the masks has a different encouraging message, though some of them don’t make a lot of sense.  (1) Perfect! Good Luck! 2) Wow! Wonderful! 3) Go Go! Fighting! 4) Interim Check! 5) Really good! 6) You can do it! 7) Well begun, half done! )

cost: 5000 won

And the other products:

PhotoGrid_1419977486857

1. THE FACE SHOP Blackhead Out Aloe Nose Strips

I haven’t tried this product, but I will sometime next week. I have never tried a nose strip that had aloe in it before purchasing this. I’m looking for a good nose strip. Hopefully this will fit the bill. And not necessarily pertaining to the product itself, but I am impressed that 1) the English is spot on on this product and 2) it’s also written in French and the French makes sense!

cost: 350 won

2. TONYMOLY Egg Pore Nose Pack

Another nose strip. As I said above, I’m trying to find a good nose strip. Maybe one of these three will work.

cost: 350 won

3. HOLIKAHOLIKA Pig-nose Clear Black head Perfect sticker

This was the first product that I tried out of my Tester Korea haul. And I wanted so badly to be impressed but I just wasn’t. These are kind of “meh” in terms of nose strips. Yes, the packaging is adorable and yes, the strips are pink, but I found that they didn’t do much for my blackhead ridden nose.

cost: 350 won

PhotoGrid_1419978902247

Innisfree Olive real cleansing tissue 10 sheet

  •  Cleansing tissue that contains gold olive ingredients
  • Paraben free, pigment free, mineral oil free, animal nature materials free, benzophenon free
  • Olive scent

I’ve heard so many good things about Innisfree so when I saw these, I snapped them up quicky.  I like cleansing wipes. They’re great for days when I feel lazy. Until I got these in the mail, I wasn’t sure if there were 10 sheets or 30. The listing said 10 sheets but further on down in the item page, it says something about 30 sheets. When I finally received the product and looked at the packaging, it says 10 sheets. So I’m going with that number. I haven’t tried this yet, but I will do so when I start wearing makeup again. (AKA after Christmas break)

cost: 800 won

Skinfood Fresh Apple sparkling Pore cream*10ea

HOW to USE: After emulsion or serum application, dispense an ample amount onto thepalm and smooth over the entire face.

Skinfood is another brand that I have heard many, many things about. While I’m not sure what a sparkling pore cream is, I’ll soon find out.  This is another example of a product where I went “ooooh, pretty” and had to buy. I like that it had 10 samples of it. I suspect it may be a pore tightener of some sort and also possibly may reduce shininess and oil production. These claims require more investigation, but if it does what it says, and I like it, a full size product order may need to happen.

cost: 1400 won

Skinfood Aloe vera foaming cleanser*10ea

This appeared to be a cleanser. I can always use more of those. Yet another thing that had 10 samples. I like that I got multiple chances to try the product. I tried using my first packet last night and I saw that one packet can be used more than once as a little amount of this product goes a LONG way. I like that it foams up nicely and it felt gentle on my skin. I didn’t feel like my skin was super dried out and it didn’t make my skin feel tight. So that’s a win. I’ll need to continue to use this to fully gauge how I like it.

cost: 1400 won

And finally, the samples. If you’ve seen Tester Korea posts before then you may be aware that most orders come with a sample pack or two. Here’s what I got in my samples:

PhotoGrid_1419979200711

I’ve seen some posts/commentary that they were disappointed to see they were all from one brand, but personally, this doesn’t bother me. I don’t own any toner at the moment and I think I will enjoy trying those four types out. And as soon as I figure out what a hydro massage gel is used for, I plan on trying that as well.  I’ve tried the platinum grape cell toner, and I liked it well enough. I was just very glad that it didn’t smell grape-y. I hate the smell of grape things. I’ve also tried the water berry toner. Both toners were nice, but I don’t feel like there was enough in the package for me to really see if it would do anything.

Because of sales, I saved 1200 won, which is pretty sweet. I think I did fairly well with this haul. Especially considering that sheet masks are definitely not this cheap here in Canada. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them cheaper than 3-4$, so even just with the masks I bought, I more than got my money worth.

I actually had a second Tester Korea order placed before my first one even came in. (whoops!) I ordered a bunch more masks, plus a few small cosmetic items. I will definitely be posting about it when it comes in!

Cheers!

Kristen
