Original:   The original blend of healthy alternative products for those who aren’t strict vegans or Gluten Intolerant

Vegan:      We fill your box with great quality products we think you’ll love, that to the best of our knowledge meet the highest of Vegan standards.

The image below is from their website and shows how and when it ships monthly.

For each of the items included in the box, I will include a product description with the size as well as the value based on my research. Also, if it’s on the Little Life box site, I will link to the product page. And of course, if I have tried the product,  I will include my thoughts.

Now, without further ado, let’s get to the unboxing.

Level Ground Black Tea

Full-flavoured, traditional black tea. Orthodox black tea with a malty body and rich, red colour. Ready to drink clear or brew it strong to drink with milk and sugar. Use 1 heaped teaspoon of this large leaf tea to make 500ml of tea. For a strong cup of tea that supports milk and sugar, we suggest using more tea leaves (try double).

I love that  this is fair trade even if I realllllly hate tea. This company also has coffee, which I’d love to try!

Amazing Grass Raw Reserve Green Superfood

Amazing Grass Raw Reserve is a blend of AFA’s (blue green algae), spirulina, chlorella, and sea vegetables from the coast of Maine, like kelp and sea lettuce, combined with our nutrient-dense cereal grasses, which are packed with vitamins, minerals, and phyto-nutrients, all of which assist the body in maintaining healthy organ function, detoxification and immunity. And with the addition of organic maca, burdock root, ginger, aloe vera, cayenne, organic flax and chia seed. Raw Reserve is a vegan way to introduce free-radical fighting plants and herbs to your diet.

The idea of this intrigues me. I’m not 100% how I am going to use this, but I will hopefully figure something out.

Steripod

Steripod is a patented clip-on natural antibacterial toothbrush sanitizer. Enclosed inside each steripod toothbrush protector is a laboratory formulated thymol compound (which originates from the herb thyme, a natural germ killer). The compound is encapsulated in plastic with small holes that allow the thymol vapors to escape and surround your brush bristles. It’s the vapors that do all the work.

This is exciting! I didn’t know that this was a thing. It’ll be good for travelling.

Annie’s Chocolate Chip Granola Bar

Overall:

This box is 19.99$ plus shipping each month. This month the value I received was roughly 52.40$. The value this month was better than last month and I did receive some nice products to try. I’d say this month was a winner for me. It had a nice selection of snacks, even though there was tea. (yuck!) If you are thinking about signing up, I’d love it if you used my referral link. I truly think it’s a great box and I’d love to see more people taking advantage of it.

Cheers!

Little Life Box: June

Another month, another Little Life Box (or Petite Boîte à Vie). This is definitely one of my favorite subscriptions, not only because it’s Canadian, but also because it’s a good value for my money and because I get to try so many things that I would never have tried otherwise living in a small town.

Monthly subscriptions start as low as 19.99$ a month and shipping is 3.95$ to any province in Canada.  I’ve had a month-to-month subscription for a few months and have no plans to cancel anytime soon.

They offer two different box options as you can read from the blurb off of their website:

Peter Piper Fair Trade Soy Sauce

Their fair trade tamari style Soy Sauce is made using four simple ingredients, soy beans, rice, water, and salt. The soy beans and rice are purchased from a fairtrade certified farmer’ Co-Op in Thailand. This product is Non-GMO, kosher, halal, and gluten free.

Last month we received pepper from this company and this month is soy sauce. I actually passed this on to a foodie coworker as it will never in a million years get used in my house. I love that it’s fairtrade, but it’s not for me.

Tex Mex Burger by Go Go Quinoa

This package is about a third of the size of a retail package (which is 375g).  I mixed the package with about a 1/3 of a cup of water. I let it set before trying to form patties and letting it cook in some olive oil. I didn’t find it stayed together even once I added more water. These were a bust for me, even though they tasted ok.

Bounce Energy Ball in Cacao Mint

Powered by organic raw cacao: a super-antioxidant that protects against free radicals and other nasties, promotes cardiovascular health and maintains desired blood pressure. It’s also a rich source of magnesium, helping to reduce muscle cramps and spasms. A great choice after exercise, a sinless snack on the go – or just a delicious alternative when you’re craving chocolate.

I really liked this. I like mint and chocolate together and this hit the spot. I’d definitely try this again.

Mrs. Crimble’s Yogourt Coated Rice Cakes

These are baked rice cakes with a yogurt coating. I don’t mind these, but they don’t have oodles of flavor. They came wrapped in two packages inside, which is nice because I can never finish an entire bag in one sitting (and I wouldn’t want to) and it helps prevent them from going stale.
